The moon of Mid-Autumn is the moon of the Orient. It has graced a thousand years of rooftops, and now it falls upon tonight’s window.
AIO — Art Institute of the Orient — cradles this round of moonlight in a box of deep green.
Within, four mooncakes — the softness of custard, the savor of pork floss — carry the warmth of a taste we once knew and almost forgot.
The drip coffee — the clarity of a light-roast Hanbella, the depth of a medium-dark Brownie — becomes a moonlit cup that can be slowly refilled, shared by two sitting quietly beneath the moon.
No words are needed; beauty never asks to be persuaded. When the moon is full, place this in the hands of someone you cherish, and it will say more than a thousand words.
Happy Mid-Autumn. May every place the moonlight reaches be a reunion.
